MY WORLD replaces Member Profile on eBay

Do you know that “MY WORLD” pages replace already the old Member Profile pages on eBay?

WOW! eBay launches My Word! This is an updated profile page that enable you to show your personality, interest, hobbies etc by combining many features which already exist on eBay.

My Word pages have been available since the end of September, but now it will replace Member Profile.

To see My Word you must click whenever you see a clickable User ID
or
http://myworld.ebay.com/[userID]

Today I click in my own user id because some feedbacks were added and I wanted to read them, and instead of Member Profile I got My Word. I start to customize a little but I have to think more about it because it is so different and offer so many possibilities! The good news is we can update when we wish the My Word page.
I like it, I really do... because My Profile was rigid and we get only feedback and statistics, now it is an entire world up there!

The eBay team tells us to keep an eye on the My World, a lot of other features will be implemented soon, like Favorite Searches & Sellers, they are still looking to improve the My World with different themes

Stay tuned for more details on these updates, I’ll publish them as soon as they will be public.

To your success

eBay best Match - a new sorting option

eBay Best Match option... available in the next few days!Today is 11/09/2006

It is a new sorting option on eBay for buyers on Search & Browse results.

"Best Match" lets you sort the listings you see based on a concept called relevance.

Best Match is different from other sort options today that sort based on one piece of information, such as "Ending Soonest" or "Lowest Price".

With Best Match, the relevance-based sort option, listings are ranked based on:
  • the item’s title and description
  • the past buyer behavior for similar searches

WOW this is cool and sound like Google!!

Factoring in past buyer behavior means that what buyers do on the site will affect the order in which listings are displayed.

In other words, if buyers running a particular search often end up

  • viewing
  • bidding on
  • buying a certain type of item more often,

this will be factored into eBay relevance calculations. The Best Match scores for these types of items will be higher, and might display higher on the page because they are similar to items that have been more relevant for that search in the past.

NOTE 1: using this sort won’t change which listings are returned, it only changes the order in which listings are presented. No listings will be added or removed when you sort by Best Match.

NOTE 2: eBay Express uses sort on relevance, but eBay Express uses and a different set of factors to determine relevance. In addition, it utilizes buyer data from eBay Express buying activity only, which will differ from eBay.com

NOTE 3: For API users - the "Best Match" sort option includes additions to the eBay unified schema API. The GetSearchResults and GetCategoryListings calls will enable you to specify that the best matches are returned first.

You’ll be able to find this option in the next few days by clicking the drop-down menu next to "Sort by" at the top of the results list.

If you’d like this to become your default sort view for your search results, use the "customize display" link right next to the drop-down.

eBay is working now on another sore option that will let you sort listings by category.

Since next time, be well and enjoy the new feature
